A Letter to Perspective Contributor
Dear 1968 Unionville High School graduate and prospective contributor,
Thank you for supporting the Unionville High School class of 1968 reunion. We look forward to seeing you there. We want to explain why we are asking for contributions, and how your contribution will be used should you decide to help.
We would like for every graduate of our class to be able to attend our 40th reunion if they desire to do so. In our 1968 yearbook, our class chose the kaleidoscope as a theme to express how our high school education introduced us to new and constantly changing ideas. Though we may not have known it at the time, the kaleidoscope also aptly represented the future that we soon discovered was constantly changing in our search for happiness and success. John Shields III wrote in my year book (and perhaps in the books of others) "of those to whom much is given, much is required". I have carried this thought with me through my life.
Many of our classmates have been very successful, but of course not everyone has. Some of our classmates have battled serious health issues, divorces, losses of loved ones, and business and investment successes and losses. Some are retired, and many live out of state and will incur both hotel and travel expenses to be able to attend. Our goal is to keep the Saturday night event expenses to a minimum. Your contribution can help in this effort and may be designated for one of the following categories:
Help to reduce the per person cost of the reunion dinner on Saturday night (meal and drinks)
-
Help defray the cost of the DJ for the reunion dinner ($400 for 4 hrs)
-
Pay for the dinner of our guests (Mr. and Mrs. Byrne)
-
Help pay for putting together the name tags, reunion booklets and decorations
-
Help cover expenses in setting up and maintaining the website.
A list of contributors will be prominently displayed at the Saturday night dinner and listed in the reunion booklet. If your company or family would like to be a sponsor for our Friday night get together, that of course is also available.
If you would like to become a contributor, please click "HERE" to download the registration form to include with your contribution. If you have any questions, please contact a committee member.
We hope that this letter answers questions you may have as a potential contributor and inspires you to help so that all may attend our 40th reunion weekend.
Thank you,
Barbara Gillespie-Marshall
